THE
INItIatIVe

The Fake News Festival is an initiative of the European University Viadrina . The Viadrina is an interdisciplinary university with a clear profile at the intersection of economics, law, and culture. It stands for international perspectives, social responsibility, and close ties to the region.

With its research on digital transformation processes, democracy, the public sphere, and artificial intelligence, it provides important impetus for current debates – and at the same time sees itself as part of the urban community in Frankfurt (Oder). The festival is an expression of this self-understanding: science should not only be discussed internally, but also debated publicly.
