FOR WHOM?
The Fake News Festival is aimed at anyone who is curious and wants to explore issues surrounding disinformation, democracy, and artificial intelligence. No prior knowledge is required – openness and interest are all that's needed.
We recommend most program items for ages 14 and up. However, everyone is welcome. Our academic lectures follow the classic university format: concise, well-founded, and sometimes complex. They offer insights into current research and demonstrate how science argues and works. Again, the festival is a public space – not a specialized conference. All speakers are aware that they are not addressing a purely academic audience, but rather a diverse urban and regional community. Questions, different perspectives, and critical inquiries are expressly encouraged.
The workshops are designed to be interactive and deliberately diverse. Some are open to all participants, while others are specifically developed for certain groups – such as school classes, young people, or senior citizens. We indicate the respective target groups in the program.
